Garden Club

Lewistown Valley Garden Club will meet Tuesday at 1 p.m. (note time) in the Zion Church Social Hall in Lewistown Valley. The program for this month is a member plant exchange. Bring your favorite plants to share. The arrangement to be judged is “Babbling brook with water and stones showing and using fresh flowers. Specimen, single spring flower or blooming branch in a clear container.

Last month’s winners for arrangements were, first place, Evelyn Adams; second, Norene Rosse; third, Sharon Herring. Specimen winners, (2) first place Ann Fedor and Sharon Herring; second place, Sue Hower; third place Norene Rosso.

Tamaqua Pool Passes

H.D. Buehler Memorial Pool will open on Saturday, May 27 at 11 a.m.

Applications for season passes are available at the following locations: Tamaqua Municipal Building, Tamaqua Post Office, Tamaqua Public Library, Fegley’s Mini-Mart. They are also available at the borough website at https://tamaquaborough.com/ and on the borough Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TamaquaBorough.

Application forms, including payment and proof of residency, must be returned to the Tamaqua Municipal Building, 320 East Broad St., Tamaqua, PA 18252. Checks and money orders must be made payable to “Borough of Tamaqua.”

Application forms and proof of residency (copy of driver’s license or photo ID) may be dropped off, mailed, or placed in the drop box at the main entrance.
