A three-month narcotics investigation in Lehighton has led to the arrest of five people.

At 7 p.m. Monday, Lehighton Police Department apprehended Michael Diaz, 26; Jasmine Estrella, 35; Arlington Santos, 29; Starlyn Santos, 27, and Michael Soto, 24, all of Hazleton, in the area of 201 N. First St. in Lehighton.

Over 6 pounds of methamphetamine, $2,640 in cash, three vehicles and a loaded 9 mm handgun were seized in the operation.

The suspects were taken to Carbon County Correctional Facility and held for arraignment.

Assisting Lehighton Police Department in the investigation were the Carbon County Drug Task Force, and Office of Attorney General, Bureau of Narcotics Investigation.
