State Police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at Fern Ridge report on the following crashes:

• Meaghan T. Sipley, 47, of Brodheadsville, was cited after a crash at 5:40 p.m. March 30 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was driving a 2013 Chrysler 200 westbound and attempted to turn left into a driveway at her residence when the car struck an eastbound 2011 Subaru Outback driven by a 17-year-old girl from Blakeslee. Police said the Chrysler was driven into the driveway while the Outback was towed from the scene.

Sipley, the 17-year-old girl and another 17-year-old girl from Kunkletown, who was a passenger in the Outback, all had minor injuries, according to police, who said there were no medical transports necessary.

• Alan S. Saitta, 66, of Blakeslee, was cited for making an unsafe left turn following an intersection crash at Weir Lake and Earl Drive in Chestnuthill Township at 10:33 a.m. March 29.

Police said he was driving a 2022 Hyundai Elantra that initiated a turn in front of a 2019 Toyota Rav4 driven by Kathy J. Tuliszewski, 52, of Saylorsburg, who was southbound at the time. Police said the Rav4 struck the Elantra, causing both vehicles to spin around and come to rest in the roadway.

Police said both drivers were assessed at the scene by personnel from the West End Ambulance corps who transported them to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg.

• Two people were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 12:33 a.m. March 25 on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said Rebecca E. Ledo, 20, and Maverick J. Ebert, 20, both of Bangor, were transported by Suburban and St. Luke’s Emergency and Transport Services personnel to a medical facility in Bartonsville. The extent of their injuries is unknown, police said.

The crash happened when Ledo was driving a 2012 Nissan southbound on Route 115 and noticed a log in the road. She attempted to swerve the vehicle out of the way but it went out of control and flipped onto its driver’s side, coming to rest in that position.

The car was towed from the scene.

• Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 12:50 p.m. April 2 on South Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township.

Transported to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, were Abigail M. Dembofsky, 22, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sarah S. Sides, 25, of Media, and Tammy J. Scott, 47, of Lake Harmony.

Police did not provide any details of the incident except to say Dembofsky and Scott were the operators of the vehicles and Sides was a passenger with Dembofsky.

Lehighton Ambulance Association personnel made the transports.

• Angela D. Cadwell, 41, of Souderton, was charged with driving without a license after a two-vehicle crash at 5:36 p.m. April 2 on Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. No one was injured.

Police said Cadwell was driving a 2019 Jeep Renegade that failed to yield to traffic, entered Route 903 from Stony Mountain Road and struck a 2018 Toyota Tundra operated by Steven A. Groff, 50, of Pottstown.

Police said the Jeep sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene while the Tundra had functional damages but was able to be driven from the scene.

• Zachary L. White, 18, of Albrightsville, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 6:36 p.m. April 4 on Route 534 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a 2009 Ford Mustang that struck a deer with its front passenger side and then traveled across the oncoming lane and off the road, striking a tree with its front driver’s side door.

The car sustained major damages and was towed from the scene.
