Registration for events are taken by phone. Call 570-645-8597.

CCEEC is located at 151 E. White Bear Drive, Summit Hill. The center building is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends.

Rain Barrel Sale & Seminar

This spring, the center is once again making quality rain barrels available through the Camel’s Hump company.

Barrels are available for sale at a standard cost of $80 each. However, for those able to attend a brief seminar on their use, barrels can be purchased at a reduced, grant-funded cost of $15.

The seminar takes place on April 25, at 6 p.m., and is open to the first 30 registered participants. Sign up or order a barrel by calling the CCEEC.

Financial and other support for this project is provided by the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts, Inc. through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act, administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Keystone Clean Water Team

Brian Oram of the Keystone Clean Water Team is the scheduled presenter for our rain barrel seminar. The team maintains an active and informative blog on a variety of drinking water issues.

Visit the blog to check out their latest post, “What’s a Drinking Water Advisory?”

Rattlesnake Run

The date’s been set, and online registration is now open for CCEEC’s 5k fundraiser. The Rattlesnake Run and one-mile fun walk take place in Lehigh Gorge State Park on June 17. The course is great for first-timers, and flat enough for experienced runners.
