Jim Thorpe Borough has announced its street sweeping and hydrant flushing schedule for 2023.

Street sweeping, pending weather, is scheduled for April 24-26.

The schedule is subject to change.

East Side

On the east side of town, there will be no parking on the even numbered side of South, Center, North, Lehigh and 2nd through 10th streets on April 24 from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. The no parking restriction switches to the odd side of those streets from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. on April 25.

There will be no parking allowed on either side of East Front, West Front, River, School, Pine, Oak, Spring, Fern, East 11th and East 13th streets; Orchard and Mauch Chunk lanes, and Olympian Way, on April 24 and 25 from 7 a.m.-5 p.m.

Broadway and the Hill

On April 26, parking will be prohibited from 5-8 a.m. on both sides of Broadway (from Route 209 to Race Street), Hazard Square, and Susquehanna, Race and Quarry streets. From 7 a.m.-3 p.m., parking will be prohibited on the even side of South, North, Cedar, Pine, Walnut, Center, Maple, Cherry and Spruce avenues.

On April 27, there will be no parking from 5-8 a.m. on either side of West Broadway, High Street and Hill Road, and from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. on either side of School or Church alley, Carbon Street, and Chestnut and Poplar avenues.

From 7 a.m.-3 p.m., parking will be prohibited on the odd side of South, North, Cedar, Pine, Walnut, Center, Maple, Cherry and Spruce avenues.

Hydrant flushing

Hydrant flushing is scheduled for the east side of the borough on April 10 and 11, the downtown area on April 12, and the Heights section on April 13.

Water may be discolored for a short period of time when flushing occurs and borough officials suggest setting aside drinking water the night before flushing is scheduled.
