Kaelis Aviles, 20, of Freemansburg, is facing charges of assault with a weapon after she struck a 34-year-old Kresgeville woman with her vehicle at 6:09 p.m. April 1.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said it happened on Red Fox Court in Polk Township, after which time Aviles fled the scene at a high rate of speed.

Police said a warrant for her arrest was issued by the district court.
