The Jim Thorpe and Panther Valley boys and girls all recorded victories on Tuesday.

TRACK AND FIELD

Lehighton-Panther Valley-Weatherly-Jim Thorpe

The Jim Thorpe and Panther Valley boys and girls all recorded wins in a Schuylkill League meet against Lehighton and Weatherly.

The Olympians scored a 108-42 victory in the boys meet, and won on a tiebreaker based on most first-place finishes (11-7) in the girls competition with the score deadlocked at 75-75.

The Panthers posted a 76-56 victory in the boys meet, and recorded a 60-27 win on the girls side as both squads moved to 1-1.

Justin Yescavage swept the 110 and 300 hurdles for the Olympians (1-0), while Bryson Heydt won the shot put and discus.

Ethan Buchert won the 100 and 200 for the Indians (0-2), while Bryan Wilde won the triple jump, and Brad Lee Jones placed first in the javelin for the Panthers.

In the girls meet, Kaila O’Connor won the 100, 200 and 300 hurdles for Thorpe (1-0), while Celia Gonzalez-Rodriguez won the 1600 and 3200, and Katrin Cavanaugh won the pole vault and long jump.

Madylin Wolter won the discus and javelin for the Indians (0-2), while Haley Ginder posted victories in both the high jump and triple jump.

Palmerton-Northwestern

Palmerton and Northwestern split in a Colonial League meet.

The Bombers posted a 93-57 victory in the boys meet, while the Tigers scored a 78-72 victory on the girls side.

Owen Hibell won the 800 and 1600 for the Bombers, while Connor Hibbel recorded a victory in the 3200. Stephen Jones also won the long jump and triple jump for Palmerton.

Faith Yost led the Tigers with wins in the 100 and 300 hurdles in the girls meet, and also won the high jump.

Nataly Walters had another massive day for the Blue Bombers. Walters broke her own school record in the long jump with a leap of 19-1.5, topping the mark of 18-11 she set last week, and also established a new school record in the 100 with a time of 12.1. Walters went four-for-four, also posting wins in the 200 and triple jump.

Marian picked up a split against Nativity in a Schuylkill League meet.

The Fillies recorded a 74-65 win in the girls meet, while Nativity posted an 82-58 win on the boys side.

Ava Fritz (1600), Abigail Kluck (3200), Fatikha Tikhtova (high jump), Zoe Salter (discus) and Carly Minchhoff (javelin) all had wins for the Fillies (2-0).

Albin Petschauer won the 1600 and 3200 for the Colts (1-1).

Both Southern Lehigh’s boys and girls picked up wins over Northern Lehigh in a Colonial League meet.

The Spartans won 122-24 on the boys side, and posted a 118-31 victory in the girls meet.

Caitlin Kirk racked up a pair of victories in the discus and shot-put events for Northern Lehigh. Dakota Barthold also won the javelin event. Zoe Hathaway won the high jump event for the Bulldogs.

Nick Frame recorded runner-up finishes in both the long and high jump events for the Bulldogs. Northern Lehigh took two out of three in the shot-put event behind Ethan Karpowich (second) and Sam Frame (third).

Pottsville-Tamaqua

Tamaqua split with Pottsville in a Schuylkill League meet.

The Blue Raiders (1-0) recorded a 93-56 win in the boys contest, while the Tide (1-0) scored a 109-41 victory in the girls competition.

Sean Wall (200), Stephen Kieffer (400), Jessie Gormley (800), Alexander Nattress (300H), Ethan DiBonifazio (javelin), Martin Griffin (long jump), Jonathan Ulicny (triple jump) and Tegan Devlin (pole vault) all had wins for the Blue Raiders.

Ceanna Gormley won both the shot put and javelin for the Raider girls, while Mia Jones posted a victory in the 1600 and Lauren Hill won the pole vault.
