State police at Stroudsburg

State police at Stroudsburg report the following incidents:

• A car making an illegal pass on Hickory Valley Road in Hamilton Township forced another vehicle off the road. Police said at 9:50 a.m. March 21 a 2019 Nissan Sentra was traveling east and attempted to pass a 2009 Pontiac Vibe in a no passing zone. Police said there were no injuries and both vehicles were driven safely from the scene.

• A 59-year-old man from Effort accrued a total of $810.68 in toll booth violations as a result of 11 fraudulent violations, state police said.

It was learned that someone else was using a license plate previously registered to the man’s vehicle to travel through the toll booths.

• Christopher J. Ledbetter, 50, of Stroudsburg, was injured in a motorcycle crash at 7:21 p.m. March 22 on Hickory Valley Road in Hamilton Township.

Police said he was transported by MedEvac to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, but doctors told them the injuries were not life threatening.

Police said Ledbetter was operating a 1985 Honda Shadow motorcycle north on Hickory Valley Road and was traveling at a speed greater than was reasonable for conditions. He lost control of the cycle, rolled over several times and slid the width of both lanes of traffic.

Police said Ledbetter was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.

The cycle was removed from the scene by a family member, police said.

• Two vehicles sustained damages but were able to be driven from the scene of a crash at 4:19 p.m. March 24 at the intersection of Route 611 and Frantz Road in Hamilton Township. No one was injured. Police said it happened when a 2004 Land Rover came to a stop at the end of Frantz Road and proceeded into the intersection in an attempt to turn right onto Route 611, striking a 2019 Chevrolet Trax that was northbound at the time.
