State police at Frackville

State police at Frackville report the following incidents.

• At 10:37 a.m. March 19 they investigated an identity theft report.

Police said a 42-year-old man from New Philadelphia reported to them someone attempted to open a fraudulent credit card account in his name. The man did not sustain any financial loss, police said.

• A 24-year-old woman from Lehighton is facing retail theft (shoplifting) charges after an incident at the Walmart store, 35 Plaza Drive, Rush Township.

Police said they were summoned there at 5:33 p.m. Feb. 19. The woman was accused of “under-scanning” $57.83 worth of food and cosmetic items at a self-checkout register in the store.

• Wei Q. Chen, 42, of Mahanoy City, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 4:28 p.m. March 10 on Skyline Drive in New Castle Township. He was not injured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2007 Honda Odyssey southbound and became distracted while operating the radio in the vehicle. It left the road and collided with a rock embankment.

Police said the Odyssey sustained heavy and disabling damages and needed to be towed from the scene.

• M. Viloriazorrilla, 55, of Ridgewood, New York, was cited after a vehicle he was driving struck the rear of a McAdoo Fire Company utility truck at 6:12 p.m. March 10. He was uninjured.

Police said he was driving a 2003 Dodge Caravan that was traveling too fast for conditions when it collided with the rear of a 2009 Ford Econoline E350 that was parked in a safe location off the right lane of travel with its emergency lights activated while fire company personnel provided traffic control at the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

Police said the Caravan sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

• A Pottsville woman who was a passenger in a vehicle they stopped for a violation was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

It happened at 10:42 a.m. Feb. 18 at 510 Orchard Lane, East Brunswick Township.

Police said the passenger also had local warrants out for her arrest. The drugs were found after a search of the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica.

• Police were summoned to investigate the theft of a 2003 Harley Davidson Road King from a property in Blythe Township, but police said the cycle was recovered.

Police said they were called to Tumbling Run Road at 2:32 p.m. Feb. 19 for the incident.
