Pink ribbon fundraiser

Cancertelethon.org and Zimmerman’s Dairy have teamed up to fight breast cancer with pink ribbons to display in businesses, bars, gyms and restaurants. Poster board ribbons will be given to participants to be hung on their walls. People pay $1 or more to write their name and message on the ribbon. On Sunday evening at the American Cancer Society Cancer Fighters dinner Tom Zimmerman IV, of Zimmerman’s Dairy in Lehighton, presented Cancer Telethon Chairman Joe Krushinsky with a $500 check to kick off the project. Businesses can participate by calling the telethon office at 570-805-4555. From left are Kathy Dombrosky-Peters, dinner organizer; Joe Krushinsky, telethon chairman; Tom Zimmerman IV, Zimmerman’s Dairy, and Angela Nardini, this year’s recipient of the volunteer extreme award. The telethon will be broadcast live from Penn’s Peak from noon to midnight Saturday and Sunday. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
