March 27, 1976 - Jim Thorpe’s Vicki Reinart wins three events to help the Olympian girls gymnastics team gain a narrow 96.9-95.45 victory over Freeland. Reinart captures the uneven bars with a score of 9.15. She also averages 9.15 on the balance beam to take that event. The junior adds a third first place with a 9.05 on floor exercise. Reinart also competes in the vault and finishes tied for fifth. Thorpe receives a second place from Diane Cherb on floor exercise, and a third from Sue Kurtz in the vault. Cherb adds a fourth in the uneven bars.
