Master gardeners helping residents grow food at home

The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Carbon County are looking for citizens of Carbon County to participate in the Food Security Project 2023.

This program is in its third year and the goal is to help Carbon County residents grow more food at home. The Carbon County Master Gardeners will offer mentoring to a limited number of citizens to help them through a successful growing season.

Each participant will receive a bucket planted with a tomato or pepper plant, plus one-on-one advice, troubleshooting, and educational support from June through October.

All Carbon County residents, whether you are a novice or expert gardener, are welcome to sign up to join. Space in the program will be limited to the first 50 participants.

To sign up email carbonmg@psu.edu, or call the Carbon County Extension Office at 570-325-2788.
