Prom tickets are available during lunch. Half-time seniors and juniors see Mrs. Kohutka in Health medical after you check in with your homeroom teacher or at 11:30 a.m., when you come in for afternoon classes. Half-time sophomores and freshman see Mrs. Kohutka in health medical after you check in with your homeroom teacher. Non-CCTI prom guests must show a valid ID to enter prom, and everyone must show their prom ticket to enter prom.
National Technical Honor Society Induction will be held on Tuesday in the cafeteria on the school campus. New members who will be inducted are: Ashley Little, Zackary Anthony, Frangil Colon, Jordyn Drumbore, Angelika Gines, Guadalupe Gonzalez, Gracie Mae Heintzelman, Julia Romankow, Jada Saldukas. The program begins at 6 p.m.
The Carbon Chamber of Commerce’s Business Education Partnership, in conjunction with Carbon Career and Technical Institute, is excited to bring 30 local businesses to the high school on Thursday. This is an opportunity for CCTI students to meet and ask questions to assist them in future employment and planning.
Weatherly

Starting this week, the National Honor Society will induct the new members starting today. We would also like to congratulate a senior member of this chapter’s National Honor Society, Kelly Michaels, for receiving a semifinalist National Honor Society Scholarship Award. Later on this week, The Seniors vs. Teachers and Alumni vs. Alumni game will take place on Saturday. The softball and cross country teams will be recognized at the game for their division title with a banner to be hung in our gym. We would also like to wish good luck to our students attending County Band.
Panther Valley

The 8th grade ACE team competed strongly throughout the 2023 academic competition. The six Panther Valley students consisted of Kayla Alburger, Bradley Barlett, RossLynn Gasket, Zoe Johnstone, Madeline Weaver, Keegan Wolfgang and alternates Viola Taschler and Spencer Black. With three rounds in each match, the crew beat Lehighton with a final score of 48-27, Tamaqua with a score of 56-23, and 45-32 against Northwestern Lehigh. Going undefeated, the team played in the finals (results TBA) on Wednesday, March 22.
Around 20 juniors and sophomores completed in the March 22 SAT hosted at Panther Valley.
The Drama Club performed a great show on March 17 and 18 - “The Importance of Being Earnest.”
Harmony Scholar’s will be participating in the Penn’s Peak American Cancer Society Teleton on April 2. Two of their acts will be performed on this televised event, which will also be performed later on in their final show on May 12 and 13.
Athletic updates
Wrestler Brenda Banks was selected for the Times News/Lehigh Valley Health Network Female Athlete of the Week for her state championship win on Sunday, March 12.
The Panther Valley softball team will take on Shenandoah on the home field at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and Our Lady Lourdes the following day at home at 4 p.m. They will end the three-day stretch of games at Weatherly, and are scheduled to play at 4:30.
The Panthers baseball team is scheduled to play Shenandoah at home on Tuesday, and at Weatherly on Thursday.
The varsity track and field team will have a meet against Weatherly at Jim Thorpe on Tuesday.
