Carbon County ARDs
Carbon County Judge Joseph J. Matika this week accepted three people into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program. Entry into the program is not an admission of guilt. Those who successfully complete the program may have their records expunged.
John C. Miles, 32, of Palmerton, was charged by borough Police Officer Shawn A. Leadbetter with simple assault and disorderly conduct on July 1, 2022.
Matika on Wednesday admitted Miles into ARD. He ordered him to pay $450 to offset the cost of the program plus a $50 monthly supervision fee and a LiveScan fee of $100; undergo anger management classes; perform 50 hours of community service, and have no contact with the victim.
James Evan Roskos, 33, of Weatherly, was charged by Hazleton State Trooper Nicholas Manganiello with Strangulation; two counts of Simple Assault and two counts of Harassment on May 22, 2022.
Matika accepted him into ARD for 18 months and ordered him to pay $450 to offset the cost of the program plus a $50 monthly supervision fee and a LiveScan fee of $100; undergo a mental heath evaluation; perform 75 hours of community service.
Malik Tyler Moore, 27, of Warrenton, North Carolina, was charged by Fern Ridge State Trooper Tyler J. O’Shura with three felony counts each of firearms not to be carried without a license; three misdemeanor counts each of firearms not to be carried without license; speeding; driving in the right lane; improper sunscreening; possessing a small amount of marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia on Nov. 25, 2021.
Matika admitted Moore into ARD for one year. He ordered him to $650 to offset the cost of the program plus a $50 monthly supervision fee and a $100 LiveScan fee; perform 50 hours of community service.
The felony counts were dismissed.
