Lehighton State Police

Lehighton State Police recently investigated the following incidents. Police did not identify the individuals involved.

• A 26-year-old Bangor man and a 39-year-old Saylorsburg man were cited after state police at the Lehighton barracks were summoned to a fight at 12:22 a.m. March 15.

Police said the two men assaulted each other at a residence on Koohlev Road in Ross Township resulting in the citations being failed in district court.

• A 20-year-old Walnutport man is facing charges of drug possession and driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance after a traffic stop at 4:03 a.m. March 12 on Lehigh Drive in Lower Towamensing Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said they stopped the man while driving a 2015 Toyota Rav4 and found him to be in possession of drugs and alcohol.

• A 43-year-old Weissport woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop made by state police at the Lehighton barracks at 4:37 p.m. March 11.

Police said the stopped the woman while she was driving a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am at Forge and Allen streets in Weissport, after which time she admitted to illegal drug use.

She was taken into custody, fingerprinted and released.

• A 26-year-old Whitehall woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop conducted by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Police said they stopped the woman while she was driving a 2018 Subaru Forester on Blue Mountain Drive in Lower Towamensing Township, after which time they suspected her to be under the influence.

• State police at the Lehighton barracks arrested a woman on a charge of terroristic threats and assault after they were called to an incident at 9:25 a.m. March 10 on the 200 block of White Street in Weissport.

Police said they were called there for a report of an irate woman screaming and yelling.

Upon arrival, troopers met with neighbors who informed them of an assault that occurred outside the residence. Police said they made contact with and arrested the woman.
