Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

The community Lenten service will be held at Zion’s United Methodist Church in Reynolds on March 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on March 9 with 20 members in attendance. President Mary Bittle opened the meeting with the reading “Journey Through Life.” Ruth Betz and Nancy Eisley were added to the sick list.

The group meets every Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Calvary Lewistown

Guest speaker Rev. Keith McCarthy will offer the message at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary Evangelical Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. and special music will be presented at the 6:30 p.m. praise service. No Wednesday prayer meeting.

Craft and Health Fair

Spring Vendor, Craft and Health Fair, March 18, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. St. John Lutheran Church, 200 East Mauch Chunk Street Tamaqua. Food, desserts and drinks available, eat in or take out.

Many unique goods, craft gifts and more.

Veteran’s Assistance

Rep. Jamie Barton (R-Berks/Schuylkill) is offering Veterans Assistance Hours each month at his Tamaqua office to provide aid to local veterans. The next service hours will be held on March 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 202 E. Broad St., Tamaqua.

Services for veterans and their dependents include assistance with compensation, pension and death benefits, education and health care, plus other benefits. Veterans do not need a membership with the American Legion to receive these services.

Those interested in scheduling an appointment can contact Barton’s district office at 570-668-1240.

American Primitive
