Special guests

St. Peter’s UMC will welcome Adult and Teen Challenge, a faith-based Substance Abuse Treatment Program. Members will share via music and testimony their recovery experience during the worship hour at the Saylorsburg church on Sunday. The members have overcome their abusive habits through the power of faith in their lives.

The community is invited to attend the church worship service every Sunday, starting at 10 a.m., but definitely on March 19 to be inspired by the stories of overcoming adversity and living in the Joy of the Lord.

St. Peter’s is located at 924 Rt. 115, Saylorsburg (next to Dollar General).

Bingo scheduled

St. Matthew’s UCC’s Christians in Action is holding a Cash & Gift Card Bingo on Sunday at the church in Kunkletown.

Doors open at noon. Bingo begins at 1 p.m.

Food and drinks will be available for sale.

Proceeds support St. Matthew’s Christians in Action Outreach programs.

Spaghetti dinner

A benefit spaghetti dinner, open to the public, for Post 927’s building fund, is being held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday. It is sponsored by the American Legion Riders.

Our Lady Queen of Peace Church is holding a Senior luncheon at 1 p.m., Monday.

Women’s Group

The Women’s Group which meets at Effort UMC will be gathering again at 7 p.m., Monday.

Prayer Shawl’ers

The Prayer Shawl group which meets at Effort UMC will gather at 10 a.m. Tuesday, to continue its work of stitches for others.

PTSD Support

The monthly Valor PTSD Support meeting at the Gilbert American Legion is set for 7 p.m., Tuesday.

Habitat sales

Monroe County Habitat for Humanity has announced it will host its warehouse sales every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the last Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sales of everything new from furniture to various supplies is offered at discount prices at its warehouse on Memorial Drive in Tobyhanna.

St. Peter’s UMC, Saylorsburg will serve its famous Roast Beef Take-out Dinner Saturday, April 15. Pre-orders will be accepted beginning March 22 by calling 570-992-7311 and leaving one’s name, phone number, and number of meals requested or emailing domehome@ptd.net with the same information.

The West End Mission ‘s next dinner will be at 4:30 p.m., March 23.

Comedy Night

Come March 25, the American Legion Post 927, Gilbert, will once again host an open-to-community Comedy Night. Featured will be 3 Wisecrackers comedians

Easter Egg hunts

Cornerstone Community Church, Polk Township Road, Kresgeville, is holding as egg hunt and fun time for the community on April 1 from 3 to 5 p.m., rain or shine.

The egg hunt is for toddlers through 4th grade, with prizes and raffles for older children.

There is also a time for a spring family photo and an Easter story book walk.

There will be refreshments, including cotton candy, popcorn, ice cream and beverages.

Everything is free.

Zion Lutheran, Brodheadsville, is hosting a free community Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. on April 2. It is for all ages up to and including Grade 5. There will be games, food, an egg hunt and the Easter bunny will be available for photos as well as lots of fun and prizes.
