Lehighton Police Log

Lehighton Police Department reported on the following incidents:

• At 4:25 p.m. March 1, police were dispatched for an unwanted man at a residence. Upon arrival, police encountered an argument in the backyard. Ultimately, police detained Brian Snyder, 49.

Police determined that Snyder entered the home uninvited and got into an argument with an ex-girlfriend over property. The argument continued outside, where the homeowner told Snyder multiple times to leave. Snyder was charged with two counts each of criminal trespass and simple assault. He was arraigned by District Magistrate William Kissner of Palmerton, and a hearing has been scheduled.

• At 4:15 p.m. Feb. 25, police initiated a stop for traffic violations. The driver, a 29-year-old man from Allentown, was determined to be impaired after submitting to roadside testing, and marijuana and drug equipment were discovered in the vehicle after consent was obtained. The driver submitted to a chemical test, with charges pending on the results of this test.

• At 2:50 p.m. March 2, police were dispatched to the 200 block of Bankway Street, for a man violating a PFA order. Upon arrival, police observed Jonathan Turner, 37, of Lehighton, on the front porch of the residence.

Turner was taken into custody for trespassing and was determined to have violated a court ordered PFA. He was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and related drug paraphernalia.

Charges have been filed related to this incident.
