State police at the Frackville barracks charged Joshua Maley, 25, of Frackville, with simple assault and harassment after an incident March 1 in Frackville.

Police said he and a 23-year-old woman from Mahanoy City were in an argument that turned physical, with Maley allegedly striking the woman with an open fist in the face. The woman said he struck her a second time and then a third time with a closed fist in the face. The woman fled the residence and ran to a neighbor’s home where she called 911.

Police said Maley was taken into custody without incident.
