State police at Hazleton

State police at Hazleton released details on incidents:

• Leeann Cheslock, 39, of Beaver Meadows, was cited for shoplifting (retail theft) by state police at the Hazleton barracks after they were summoned at 4:57 p.m. Feb. 18 to the Walmart store on Airport Road in Hazle Township.

Police said she was caught with $81.66 worth of various health and beauty items in her purse.

• Police are investigating a burglary that was reported to them at 8:14 p.m. Feb. 6.

Police said the victim, a 53-year-old Hazleton man, told them someone entered his house in the 100 block of Tamaqua Street in the township and removed about $300 from a piggy bank.

• Roy R. Woodward, 78, of Tamaqua, had minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 1:50 p.m. Feb. 21 at the intersection of the Arthur Gardner Parkway and South Church Street in Hazle Township.

Police said he was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton by personnel from the American Patient Transport System.

Police said the incident occurred when Woodward, driving a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox, failed to yield to oncoming traffic while driving west on the parkway and his vehicle was struck by a 2020 Isuzu operated by Rafael Lora, 48, of Hazleton. Lora was uninjured.

The Equinox sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

Police said Woodward was cited for the incident.

• Ashley Sist, 37, of Hazleton, was charged following an incident at 12:10 a.m. Feb. 26 on South Birch Street in Banks Township.

The victims are a 48-year-old man, a 75-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman, all of Tresckow.

Police said they were summoned to investigate a criminal mischief incident and determined Sist shattered a rear window of a 2011 Cadillac and took an Arlo Surveillance Camera valued at $150.

Police said she contacted the victim at inconvenient hours in an anonymous manner.

Police said they are looking for Sist’s whereabouts and ask anyone with information on her to contact them.

• A 28-year-old Beaver Meadows man is facing harassment charges after police were summoned to a domestic dispute at 5:53 p.m. Feb. 27 on Berwick Street in the borough.

Police said the suspect shoved a 64-year-old man and threw a soda can at a 68-year-old woman, striking her in the head. Police did not identify the suspect.
