Penn State gardening seminar on April 29 in Wilkes-Barre

There will be a Penn State Extension gardening seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 29 at Penn State Wilkes-Barre Bell Technology Center.

The day is packed with educational sessions covering a range of home gardening topics, and plants will be available for sale as long as they last.

Keynote speaker Keith Phelps of Inspired Designs and WNEP Home and Backyard will start the day sharing his inspiration for horticultural design work and practical advice for creating container plantings.

Following Phelps will be breakout sessions on home food preservation, ticks, gardening for pollinators, backyard greenhouses, strawberries, blueberries and brambles, and dahlias and tender bulbs.

The plant sale will be operating all day.

Master gardeners will be available at the information table to answer gardening questions and light refreshments will be provided.

Seating is limited and early registration is encouraged, registration fee is $25.
