A Hazleton firm will be the general contractor for the new Marian High School in Hometown, according to an announcement made by Bishop Joseph McShea of the Diocese of Allentown.

After the opening of bids yesterday, the general contract went to Ralph H. Woelfel and Sons, Hazleton, in the amount of $744,400. The electrical contract was awarded to Buck Electric Co., Reading, in the amount of $104,745, while the heating and ventilation award went to Corbitt’s, Reading, $139,300, and the plumbing contract was given to John F. Miles Co., Kulpmont, at $178,000.

After built-in equipment and special items were added to the costs, the expenditures for the building totaled $1,350,828.
