District Judge Mancuso announces bid for re-election

Colleen Mancuso announces her re-election campaign for Magisterial District Judge in Monroe County. Her court has jurisdiction over cases in Chestnuthill, Eldred, Polk and Ross townships.

She will run on both the Democratic and Republican ballots in the May 16 Primary.

First elected to the bench in 2012 and then re-elected in 2018, Mancuso’s cases consist of traffic, non-traffic summary citations, truancy, landlord/tenant matters, marriages, civil cases, criminal preliminary hearings, bail hearings and search warrants.

“I love this job. I try very hard to make my court less intimidating for all who come before me. I am sensitive to the realization that this may be the only contact many people have with the court system. Many are confused and sometimes angry at the system, but my staff and myself try very hard to help everyone. I am fair, honest and respectful,” Mancuso said.

Previously, Mancuso worked in Monroe County for 11 years as an assistant district attorney, three years as a public defender and 20 years as a civil attorney specializing in divorce, custody, child support, wills, estates and real estate matters.

Mancuso obtained her law degree from Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education-history.
