West Penn hears truck concerns

West Penn Township resident Larry Stival voiced concern last week about truck parking at the E-Z Market along Route 309.

“That’s dangerous when a tractor-trailer parks there,” Stival said.

Supervisor Glenn Hummel told Stival that he, or any township residents, should always call 911 in the event of an emergency.

In July 2018, Stival asked the board to address what he said was a dangerous parking issue.

Stival told the board that trucks constantly park by the E-Z Market along 309.

He asked the board at that time if it could place more signs there, or possibly increase the fine.

Supervisors instructed township secretary Katie Orlick to contact the state Department of Transportation about possibly putting up bigger no parking signs.
