Andrew Yurko, 362 West Kline Avenue, Lansford, was elected president of the Panther Valley Wireless Association on Saturday at the club’s regular session. He was last year’s president of the Carbon Amateur Radio Club.,

Joining Yurko in heading the association will be Joseph Blihar, Tamaqua, vice president, and Sylvester Dallas, Tamaqua, secretary-treasurer.

The new president is one the charter members of the club. He operates his amateur station under the call letters K3BGF and is known to his fellow “hams” as a “DX Hound.” This means he likes to work countries outside the continental limits of the United States.
