CCTI

Wednesday activities began on Feb. 22.
Every Wednesday there will be an hour period for clubs, tutoring, and other activities. This activity will begin immediately following homeroom.
Wednesday activities will be continuing for the rest of the third marking period. This will also be a replacement for Thursday after-school activities. The next Activity Period Day will be this Wednesday.
CTE Olympics will be held through Tuesday with Information Technology events.
Lehighton

In upcoming weeks, Lehighton Area High School will be holding SAT testing for those who have signed up for it, and they will continue to offer testing dates in the future as well, so please wish these students the best of luck through the testing process
Freshmen and Sophomore students interested in attending CCTI are being encouraged to complete applications for next school year and should turn them in by Tuesday.
Lehigh Carbon Community College will also be having a session open to all 10th grade students and their parents or guardians in hopes of providing information about earning college credit at LCCC through dual enrollment or through the College Scholar program which allows high school students to earn an associate degree while earning their high school diploma. This meeting will be held today or in case of inclement weather, Tuesday.
The senior class is very busy with fundraisers and raffles to help raise money for end of the year events and activities, so please reach out to a senior at Lehighton if interested in what they may be selling or fundraising for at the moment.
A club at the high school recently just had another D&L Adopt a Mile Trail clean up day on Saturday. Every few weeks, this club and their advisor, Ms. Shober, volunteer their time and energy to help make our community a bit cleaner and better.
Volleyball clinics open to any 8th-11th grade student that may be interested in playing next year can start participating in them from 3-5 p.m. Wednesdays at the high school.

Starting off this week the National Honor Society is conducting a blood drive on Wednesday. Wrapping up winter sports, our girl’s basketball team is playing their district playoff game on Tuesday. We wish them good luck against Mountain View. We also want to wish our spring sports athletes good luck, as they are starting their conditionings this week.
Panther Valley

Thanks to the fundraising of the Girl’s Basketball Booster Club, the PVHS girls basketball team was able to travel to see the women’s basketball game Villanova vs. University of Connecticut on Feb. 18.
Fifteen football athletes were selected for the Gold All Academic Teams for their athletic and academic hard work. These players include Austin Hadley, Trey McAndrew, Ethan Gardiner, Logan Haines, Michael Pascoe, Riley Hoben, Brad Jones, Eli Maynard, Mergim Bushati, Brennan Kunkel, Connor Penberth, Frank Shubeck, Michael Williams, Brody Breiner, and Jah Bushati.
Brady Jones was selected for the Silver Team, and Michael Kokinda for the Bronze team.
Five of our Panther Valley Track and Field Athletes, including Bella Bochicchio, Michael and Gino Williams, Riley McArdle, and Hannah Shreffler competed in the Douglas Wesner Memorial Invitational Meet for the first time at Kutztown University, being one out of 67 Pennsylvania teams.
Physics teacher Mr. Reabold was able to take his students on the Blue Mountain Snow Tubing trip, and they are now planning for the end of year trip to Dorney Park.
Harmony Scholars practices are bumped to three nights a week, preparing for the finale show which is scheduled for May 12 and 13.
On March 3-5, the Panther Valley JSHS building will host the annual Pocono Juggle/Circus Arts festival, consisting of open juggling, circus arts, and other workshops all for free.
