Saints Peter and Paul Church, 260 N. Third St., Lehighton, announces the following:

Masses

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is offered on the Lord’s Day at Saints Peter and Paul Parish by the Rev. Christopher M. Zelonis, assisted by Deacon Joseph C. Wilhelm Jr., on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 7:45 a.m. and 10 a.m. Daily masses are on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 8 a.m. We welcome you, or welcome you back, to worship the Lord at our parish.

Lenten times for the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) are Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and 30 minutes before Masses on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

The Eucharist is exposed for personal prayer every Wednesday from noon to 9 p.m. We are particularly in need of adorers between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

We pray the Stations of the Cross on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. during Lent.

On Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, & whenever desired, we fast by eating one full meal and two smaller meals. We abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays in Lent. All year we are at liberty to limit food, entertainments, etc.

Activities

“Come be My Light,” the story of St. Teresa of Kolkata, will be aired in the parish hall at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 5. A film on St. Peter will be shown at 2 p.m. Sunday. Bring your own liquids. We’ll make the popcorn and perhaps have pizza available.

Our Lenten Fish Fry is from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 31 in the hall, to eat in or take out. Haddock, fries, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw and dessert will be served. A fee is served.

On Fridays in Lent at 6:30 p.m. in the parish hall, we will view and discuss “Into the Deep,” a series of spiritual reflections. Popcorn and pizza will be provided. praymoreretreat.org provides an excellent retreat series that one can watch on the go.

Help available

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Allentown is accepting appointments and walk-ins at the parish convent building every Thursday from 9 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Services include: individual, marriage, and family counseling; pregnancy and parenting support (counseling, material assistance such as diapers, wipes, baby items); and supportive services (case management, material assistance, emergency rental assistance, referrals). Our parish Saint Vincent de Paul Society hosts “Vincent’s Closet” by appointment in our former convent building on 242 N. 3rd Street. The society offers clothing and toiletries for those in need, and seeks donations of the same. Call the Rectory for more information.
