Tamaqua’s East End and American Hose Fire companies joined hands to host the annual Chili and Boilo Cook-Off for the benefit of the American Cancer Society.

Hosted at the East End headquarters, there were 18 entries of chili and 17 concoctions of boilo.

Winners included: chili, special, Matt Coccio, judges’ choice, and Jared Stahler, people’s choice; chili, traditional, Donette Miller, judges’, and Jared Stahler, people’s choice; boilo, special, Bill Navitsky, judges’ choice, and Brian Connely, people’s choice; and boilo, traditional, Jim Mansell, judges’ choice, and Charles Connely and Bob Ruggeri, people’s choice.
