Pocono Garden Club to learn about terrariums

“The Secrets of Creating a Terrarium Garden” will be taught when the Pocono Garden Club meets at 1 p.m. March 14 at the Monroe County Conservation District, 8050 Running Valley Road, Bartonsville.

Club member and treasurer Joan Lippi will instruct. Bring a jar suitable for a small terrarium. Some materials and plants will be provided. Club members may bring their own plants.

Participation is encouraged in the monthly design exhibit, titled “Pot of Gold, a vertical design. Fresh flowers are preferred, though silk and dried flowers are acceptable.

The horticultural entry would be a forced flowering branch such as forsythia, quince, pussy willow and witch hazel. Submit one stem, not to exceed 24 inches, sized in proportion to the clear container you put it in.

The houseplant entry would be any succulent.

Please bring in your entries 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.

Everyone interested in gardening is welcome to attend.

Refreshments are welcome.

The club’s Annual Flower Show and Plant Sale, themed “Lights on Broadway” this year, will be held July 8 at St. Paul’s Church in Tannersville.
