Franklin Township supervisors took the following action on Tuesday:
• Awarded bids for 10,000 gallons low sulfur diesel fuel ($33,700), and 6,000 gallons heating oil ($19,080), prices were to be in effect as of Feb. 17; escalator clause in effect, to George’s Plumbing & Heating.
• Agreed to rebid for 10,000 gallons of 87 Octane no-lead gasoline, with the bid opening to be held at the board’s meeting on March 21 - pump prices in effect on March 17.
• Agreed to advertise for bids for landfill services, to be opened March 21. The Waste Management agreement ends April 30.
• Appointed Sherry Rabenold as the custodian of the Phifer’s Ice Dam Pavilion. The current rate is $35 for each rental.
• Granted permission to the Franklin Township Lions’ Club, Pohopoco Rod & Gun Club, and the National Wild Turkey Federation for exclusive use of the Phifer’s Ice Dam Pond 1 and 2 for the following dates: May 7, National Wild Turkey Federation Youth Fishing Rodeo; May 13, Lions Club Fishing Contest; and May 14, Pohopoco Rod & Gun Club Youth Fishing Day Event.
• Limited the fishing in Dams 1 and 2 at the Phifer’s Ice Dam Park to any youth less than 16 years of age from noon May 6, to 12 a.m. June 5.
• An electronic recycling event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. April 1.
• Garbage bills were mailed out at the end of January. Residents should call the office if they did not receive their bill.
