The East End Fire Company in Tamaqua will hold a Chili and Boilo Cook Off Saturday from its 553 E. Broad St. station. Proceeds benefit the Carbon/Tamaqua American Cancer Society.
Awards for traditional and nontraditional boilo will be given. Folks may also enter their traditional beef chili, or a nontraditional chili made with anything other than beef.
In addition to awards from the judges, people’s choice awards will be given.
Registration begins at 11 a.m., with tasting between 1 and 5 p.m. Registration fees are $20, and the tasting fee is $10.
