Lehighton Area Elementary Center will have kindergarten registration and assessments for next school year from March 27 through April 4.

Times for registration and assessments will be from 9-11 a.m. and 12:30-2 p.m. There will also be an evening session from 4-7:30 p.m. on March 29.

Parents must preregister their child by going to www.lehighton.org and click on registration at the top of the screen. You will then be prompted to click 2023-2024 Kindergarten Registration.

Follow the online instructions to set up a profile for your child(ren). After all information is entered and submitted, you will be directed to a link to schedule an appointment for your child(ren)’s on-site registration/assessment.

Make sure you are registering for the 2023-2024 school year.

When scheduling an appointment, parents must schedule one appointment for each child they are registering.

Documents required to register your child for kindergarten are required and must be brought to registration appointment:

1. A state issued birth certificate or other acceptable proof of age and name is required. Document must be provided before the child will be admitted to school.

2. Parent/Guardian Photo Identification is required at time of registration. Parents must provide driver’s license or other legal photo ID. Guardian must provide a copy of legal guardianship with educational rights.

If guardian does not have legal custody, the parent must be present to sign with identification. If you have a custody agreement, please bring it along to the appointment.

3. Two proofs of residence.

4. Proof of Immunizations and last well visit.

State law requires that all children entering school for the first time must have written proof of immunizations: Please contact your physician for a copy. Proof of these immunizations must be provided before the child will be admitted to school.

5. Please bring your child. Vision screening, hearing screenings, and kindergarten assessment testing will be done on all children during the registration/assessment session. Also, your child’s photo will be taken for identification purposes.

All entering kindergarten students are required to have a physical.

School counselors will be available for any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child entering kindergarten.
