Tamaqua police log

Tamaqua police reported on several incidents in the borough.

• Robert Hibbler, 72, of Tamaqua, was charged with harassment by communication on Feb. 18 after he called a borough woman and threatened her and her husband.

• Nevardo Toro Jr. of Tamaqua, was charged with passing a bad check.

According to police, a representative from Orkin Pest Control told officers that Toro wrote a check for $906.30 to Orkin on Dec. 22. Despite numerous attempts to allow Toro to make good on the check, police said he did not.

Police filed charges on Feb. 20. The check and associated fees now totals $1,016.

• A Tamaqua woman was cited following several incidents where an alarm at her home sounded and no issues were found.

According to Tamaqua police, officers responded to an alarm at the home of Tina M. Moyer, Lincoln Street, at 11:45 a.m. Feb. 20 and found no issues.

Officers said it was the seventh false alarm in a year, and the fourth in six days.
