February 21, 2015 - Six area wrestlers capture first place at the District 11 championships at Freedom High School. Northern Lehigh leads the way with three gold medals. The Bulldogs’ Colton Rex gains a 6-4 decision in sudden victory at 113 pounds, while teammate Matt Schmall registers a 5-2 win at 132 to gain his title. Nolehi, which also finishes first in team points, receives another gold from Ryan Farber, who posts a 3-1 decision at 145. Jim Thorpe’s Kevan Gentile takes the 106-pound crown with a 15-0 tech fall, while Caleb Clymer of Northwestern uses a pin at 138 to earn his gold medal. Lehighton’s Connor Frey gains a convincing 8-1 win at 162 to earn his place atop the medal stand.
