Animal cruelty report unfounded

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks said Friday an alleged report of animal cruelty they received at 7:21 a.m. Feb. 15 proved to be unfounded.

Police said they were dispatched to a residence in Hamilton Township to investigate the case, where a complainant claimed the animals in question, five cattle, were potentially malnourished and required supplementary health care.

Police said the investigation determined all five cattle are given the appropriate care. It was also determined that the cattle have access to life-sustaining essentials.

Police said as an additional precaution, the cattle owner was advised of supplemental means to provide the best life possible for the cattle.
