State police at the Frackville barracks are seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed a tractor-trailer crash at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 12 on Interstate 81, near mile marker 124.2 in West Mahanoy Township.

Police said it happened when a 2017 Freightliner Cascadia owned by Industrial Transport Services LLC, was traveling south and left the southbound lanes, traveled through the center median across the northbound lanes before traveling over the embankment and down onto Altamont Boulevard.

Police said a male driver, 54, and a female passenger, 31, were extricated from the truck and flown to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, and Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbuy Township, for medical treatment.

Anyone with information on the crash, or who may have been a witnessed it, is asked to call police at 570-874-5300.
