Free dinner

Once again, Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville will be offering a free community supper via drive-in beginning at 5 p.m. today. It will include ham, scalloped potatoes, a vegetable, salad and dessert.

Veterans Memorial

The Polk Township Veterans’ Memorial Commission will meet at 6 p.m. today.

Chestnuthill planning meeting

The Chestnuthill Township Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. today.

Eldred Township meeting

The Eldred Township board of supervisors is slated to meet at 7 p.m. today at the Municipal Building on Kunkletown Road.

Meetings are held virtually and in person. Check the website or call 610-381-4252 to confirm the meetings.

Hoagie sale

McMichaels UMC’s hoagie sale for the month ends Thursday. Call Pastor Ed at 610-597-1030 to place an order for a variety of hoagies. Pickup is at the church from 10 until 11:30 a.m. Feb. 23.

The church hosts an alcoholic anonymous meeting. every Wednesday at noon and every Saturday evening at 6:30. There is no charge for attending.

Gilbert Tax Aide

Salem United Church of Christ, Gilbert, is again hosting the AARP Tax-Aide program from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursdays as of Feb. 2 and continuing every Thursday for 11 weeks.

One can sign in and taxes will be prepared in the order listed for the user’s chosen week.

Lions meet

The Western Pocono Lions Club will be meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, at Cherry’s Restaurant in Kresgeville.

Pantry open

The West End Pantry in Kunkletown, at the Eldred Township Community Center, the former Eldred Township Elementary School, is open every third Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Thrift Store, also at the Community Center, is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Donations may be taken there on Wednesday and Thursday during normal hours.

Winter Fair set

The West End Fair will host its second Winter Fair the weekend of Feb. 25 and 26 at the fairgrounds. Saturday’s hours will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be entertainment, vendors, games, food and much more. More information to follow in the coming weeks.
