State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a reported shooting incident that occurred in Schuylkill County last Friday.

Troopers said about 6:10 p.m. they were dispatched to a shooting/assault that occurred along Route 61 in the area of The Freeze and South Greenview Road, in North Manheim Township. The suspect involved was operating a light-colored sedan.

Troopers said a firearm was discharged from the suspect’s vehicle, striking another vehicle. The suspect then fled at a high rate of sped south on Route 61 and entered the jug handle at Brick Hill Road. He was last seen traveling on Brick Hill Road in West Brunswick Township.

Anyone traveling on Route 61 south, between Mount Carbon Arch Road and Brick Hill Road on Friday, between 5:50 and 6:10 p.m., who may have witnessed the incident, or the involved vehicle, is asked to call troopers at 570-754-4600. Trooper Justin Bedford is the investigating officer.
