Prothonotary Kayla Semmel is seeking a second term.
Semmel, a Republican and lifelong Carbon County resident, obtained the office as the Prothonotary in January 2020.
During her initial campaign, Semmel ran on being a present, active and hands-on office holder.
Since taking office she has worked diligently, alongside her staff, to implement technological advancements, while reducing spending by almost 50%. As a result, Semmel has saved taxpayers over $100,000. She continues to seek ways to generate revenue for the county to ease the burden upon the taxpayers, and combat increasing costs from operating the county government.
When she’s not in the office, Semmel stays very active within the community. She serves on the board of Family Promise, a local homeless shelter, and as a volunteer firefighter with Parryville Fire Company No. 2.
“I am extremely proud of all that my staff and I have been able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. I am truly blessed to have such a knowledgeable, dedicated and supportive team by my side, serving the community. We have made a lot of positive changes and with the implementation of our new case management system, coming later this year, we will continue to explore new ways to make the courts more accessible to our community.”
Semmel humbly asks for your vote and your continued support and looks forward to the opportunity to provide dedicated and superior services to the constituents.
