State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers:

• On Jan. 29 at 6:33 a.m. a one-vehicle crash was reported along Merwinsburg Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said M. Andrianopoulos-Onofre, 53, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2017 Dodge Ram truck southbound when a deer entered the road in front of her. She attempted to miss the animal and entered the northbound lane, struck a curb and then a tree along the berm. Upon impact the truck rotated about 20 degrees traveling southbound from the berm onto the northbound lane where it came to rest.

No injuries were reported but the truck had to be towed.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 5:16 a.m. on Feb. 3 along Route 534 in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Bruce W. Sears, 49, of Blakeslee, was driving a 2008 Toyota Yaris downhill in a right curve on a snow-covered road when he lost control. The vehicle went onto the berm and struck a tree head-on.

Sears was not injured. The vehicle was towed and he was cited for the crash.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 6:59 a.m. on Feb. 2 along Brookmont Drive in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Tyler C. Deihl, 28, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2007 Pontiac Torrent southbound when the vehicle crossed over the left lane, went onto the berm and struck a tree.

Troopers said Deihl failed to notify police of the crash and fled the scene, but was later located and charged. The vehicle was towed.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported on Feb. 4 at 4:33 p.m. along Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township with Catherine F. Grabinsky, 70, of Kunkletown, driving a 2019 Nissan Rogue, and a 17-year-old female from Blakeslee driving a 2019 Hyundai Kona. Troopers did not give any other details of the crash except to say no one was injured.
