Lehighton man charged with firing gun in home

A Lehighton man has been charged with firing a gun inside a home Sunday night.

Lehighton Police Department said that at 9:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shots fired call inside a residence in the 200 block of South Seventh Street.

Police learned that the defendant, Kristian Fritzinger, 25, had physically assaulted a family member.

Before leaving the residence, Fritzinger fired a shot in the residence from a semi-automatic handgun.

One person had minor injuries from the initial physical assault.

No one was harmed by gunfire.

Fritzinger was taken into custody.

The Franklin Township Police Department, Jim Thorpe Police Department, Lehighton EMS and Carbon County 911 assisted.

Fritzinger has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; criminal attempt; endangering welfare of children; discharge of a firearm into occupied structure; possessing instruments of crime; simple assault; and harassment.
