State police at Bethlehem

State police at Bethlehem released details on the following incidents:

• A 53-year-old Slatington man is facing charges of receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after state police were summoned at 12:40 a.m. Jan. 6 to a residence along Mountain Road in Washington Township.

Police said they were called there to assist the Lehigh County Parole and Probation personnel and while there found the man to be in possession of a semi-automatic pistol.

• Michael Hotton, 59, of Lehighton, is facing drug possession charges that will be filed against him by state police at the Bethlehem barracks after a traffic stop that happened at 4:39 p.m. Jan. 15.

Police said they found Hotton slumped over in his vehicle at a traffic light at the intersection of Main Street and Sand Spring Road in North Whitehall Township.

They said while requesting identification from him, they observed a cigarette containing a green leafy substance inside the vehicle.

• A 41-year-old Slatington man is facing charges of driving under the influence after a stop made by state police at the Bethlehem barracks at 7:04 p.m. Jan. 24.

Police said they stopped the man while he was driving a vehicle with no headlights on at the intersection of routes 873 and 309 in North Whitehall Township and found him to be under the influence.

He was taken into custody after performing field sobriety tests.

• Police cited a 30-year-old Slatington man with harassment by physical contact after they were summoned to investigate a domestic disturbance at 12:07 a.m. Jan. 15 at a home along Church Road in Heidelberg Township.

Police said the victim is a 28-year-old woman from Slatington, who related the minor physical altercation.
