Boyle worked for many years for the Times News before he retired in July. He is now serving as executive director of the Lehighton Chamber of Commerce.

The resolution read by chairman Adam Begel notes the authority “is duly appreciative of the cooperation and interest shown by Mr. Joseph Boyle in the activities of the authority.”

Signed by members Begel, Jacqueline Batovsky, Bernice Snyder, Roy Zimardo and Richard Merluzzi, the petition noted Boyle “has demonstrated a sincere interest in community betterment and revitalization.”
