Five Schuylkill businesses cited for liquor violations

Five Schuylkill County businesses have been cited by the Allentown enforcement office of the state police for violating the state liquor code.

• Pine Grove Ten Pine Club, 85 Long Stretch Road, Pine Grove, was cited on Feb. 26, March 1, 8, 15, 19, 22, 26, 29; April 5, 9, 12, 19, 23, 24, 26; May 10, 17, 28, 31; June 7, 11, 26, 28; July 2, 12, 16, 17, 19, 223, 260 30; and Aug. 2, 9, 14 and 30, 2022, for the manager of the licensed premises being employed by another business without the liquor board approval and that the manager bartended at another licensed premises.

• Pine Grove Hose Hook & Ladder Company, 1 Orchard St., Pine Grove, was cited for Nov. 26, 2022, sold alcohol beverages to nonmembers. Also, during the period of Jan. 4, 2022, through Jan. 4, failed to maintain records in conformity with the provisions of the liquor code.

• Roedersville Game & Fish Association, Mountain Road, Pine Grove, was cited for on Oct. 16 and Nov. 13, 2022, for gambling devices or paraphernalia or permitted gambling or lotteries, pool selling and/or bookmaking on the licensed premises. Also, during the period of Dec. 27, 2022, through Jan. 6, failed to return the club liquor license and wholesale liquor purchase permit cards to the board after said license establishment had not been in operation for a period of 15 consecutive days.

• Russo’s Pizza Den and Restaurant, 1353 Centre Turnpike, Orwigsburg, was cited on Nov. 9, 2022, for sale of alcoholic beverages to a minor, age 19.

• Pottsville Beer Distributing LLC, 1206 Laurel Blvd., Pottsville, cited during the period of Nov. 7, through Dec. 27, 2022, for failing to have the board-approved manager complete RAMP owner/manager training within 180 days of the board’s approval.

The charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition. The judge can also imposed a license suspension for revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
