Palmerton to spend $287K on sewers, roads

It will cost Palmerton nearly $300,000 for a sewer main and road restoration project.

Borough council on a 6-0 vote Thursday awarded a bid for sewer main sectional repairs and road restoration project for $287,045 to Wexcon, Inc. of Mohrsville, Berks County.

Borough Manager Donna McGarry said the project involves the repair of 11 sections of sanitary sewer and one manhole rehabilitation.

“Most of the work will be done at locations along Delaware Avenue, with two others in the west end,” McGarry said. “These areas were found to be the items of most concern after the townwide sewer televising project was done a couple of years ago.”

Councilman Richard Nothstein was absent.
