Chili benefit

There will be a chili cook off on Feb. 4 at Polk Firehouse as a fundraiser for Austin’s Blue Line. This fundraiser goes towards scholarships.

Moon walk

Monroe County Conservation District’s Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center has announced a Full Moon Walk at Kettle Creek at 6:30 p.m., Feb. 4, for the opportunity to take a walk under the light of a full moon on a clear winter night.

Even though it is the middle of winter there are many things going on outside at Kettle Creek say staffers.

It is a walk for the whole family to enjoy. Attendees are asked to dress for the weather and possibly snow covered trails. Hot chocolate will be served at the end of the walk.

There is a per person cost, to be paid by check or cash only. Preregistration is required.

For more information or to register, call the Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center at 570-629-3061, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and some Saturdays from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m.

Blood benefit

Polk Township firehouse will be the site of a benefit blood drive for Kunkletown firefighter Kyle Frable Kunkletown firefighter from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 5 through Miller-Keystone.

Breakfast held

Effort UMC will hold its February fellowship breakfast on Feb. 19 instead of on Feb. 12.

Comedy Night

Come March 25, the American Legion Post 927, Gilbert will once host and open-to-community Comedy Night.
