January 26, 1967 - Jim Thorpe uses six pins to help gain a 47-12 Tri-County League victory over Mahanoy Area. Larry Feuerstein, at 112 pounds, and Robert Gerber, at 120, register back-to-back falls for the Olympians, coached by Vic Pituch, to start a run of nine consecutive wins on the mat. Harry Gillespie (127) and William Solomon (133) both earn decision wins, while Lou Mueller (138), Ed Smith (145), Fred Ohlsen (154) and Jack Dever (165) all follow with pins. The Thorpe run concludes with a decision from John Grossman at 180.
