Calvary Lewistown

Mrs. Erica Murphy will offer the message at the 10:25 a.m. worship service in Calvary Evangelical Church of Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. There will be no evening service this week. Prayer and share will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.

Souper Sunday will be observed during the morning worship service on Feb. 12.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Jan. 19 with 24 members in attendance. President Mary Bittle opened the meeting with the ready “Safety Net.” Dolly Kamant was given a warm welcome back by the group.

The group meets every Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.

Thrift Sale

Blessings, Zion Lutheran’s thrift ministry, is hosting a one-day post-holiday sale, Feb. 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The sale features gently used winter clothing and school uniforms along with general household items, books and toys.

A limited take-out kitchen menu is available. Major credit cards and cash are accepted. (No checks.)

Zion Lutheran is located at the corner of Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets in Tamaqua.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Zion Church, Lewistown Valley. A congregational meeting will be held immediately following the morning service. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Zion men will meet Saturday, Jan 28 at 8 a.m. in Memorial Hall. Women’s Bible study on Monday, Jan. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall.

American Primitive

The Rev. Rick Clemson will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday in American Primitive Methodist Church. Sunday school scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Recorded message is available at www.facebook.com/PMChurch Tamaqua.
