Kunkletown Thrift Store up and running again

Kunkletown Thrift Store at Eldred Community Center held a grand reopening last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after being closed for three weeks to reorganize and give the store a face-lift.

“It was a labor of love and everyone pitched in,” said Donna Borger Deihl, the store’s manager.

She said there is still a little more work to do in a few areas.

If you are a reader you will be delighted to browse the large area that is housed in one of the rooms. The books are sorted and on shelves clearly marked by topics just as you would find in a library.

There is a linens, blankets, comforters and pillows section as well as a curtains section. Everything is marked clearly and easy to find.

The men’s clothing room is sorted and sized, making it much easier to find the size and color.

The women’s clothing room has plenty of gently used women’s pants, sweaters, blouses, dresses and jewelry.

The thrift store is located at 516 Kunkletown Rd. The hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Donations are accepted Friday only from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Wedding season is approaching and the thrift store has racks and racks of gently worn bridal dress and other bridal dresses that still have the tags on them. There are veils and shoes that look like new. AMY LEAP/TIMES NEWS
