State police at Lehighton reported on a crash which resulted in the driver facing a driving under the influence charge.

The crash was reported at 1:55 a.m. on Jan. 4 along Route 3008 in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Sheena M. Watkins, 38, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 truck while attempting to negotiate a left-hand turn. The truck left the road and struck an embankment. It came to rest on top of the embankment.

A passenger in the vehicle was evaluated by medical personnel and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono, East Stroudsburg, for treatment of minor injuries.

Watkins was found to be under the influence and submitted to a breath test. Charges are pending.
